1. From Groves-Walker: Donations are once again being requested for military “”Care Packages” to be sent to our troops overseas. Please bring donations to the Post and leave them in the downstairs restroom vestibule or bring them to the February meeting (Thursday 2/2).
Auxiliary Unit 346 wants to be able to send the items listed below to our men and women serving overseas, all donations (including monetary donations) are GREATLY appreciated!
If you have a loved one who is currently serving overseas and would like them to receive one of these packages, please contact Cheryl Fierk at: [email protected] with their contact information.
Donations Needed: Small or travel sizes of: bars of soap, razors, deodorant, body spray, toothpaste & brush, mouthwash, dental floss, shampoo, conditioner.
Wet-wipes, antibacterial wipes, Alka-Seltzer 2 pack, Tums, Pepto-Bismol tablets, cough drops, Band-aids, sewing kit, suntan lotion, sun glasses.
Laundry detergent (single load packs), hand & foot warmer packs, writing supplies (pens, pencils, paper), phone cards, memory sticks & cards.
Puzzles, crosswords, Sudoku, travel size board games, decks of cards, paperback books.
Pringles, Lays chips, beef jerky, cookies, hard candy (NO chocolate please), Gatorade, other drink mixes (single serving size), Tabasco & Sriracha sauce (single serving size), instant coffee, tea bags. Monetary donations accepted as well.
2. Michigan Elks Association Major Project Commission and Kroger are teaming up. If you shop at Kroger, just register your Kroger Plus rewards card with our number 34735, beginning January 30th, use that card each time you shop at Kroger, and Michigan Major Project Commission will reap community rewards.
